Val is a qualified Occupational Psychologist and has worked previously in a Human Resources/OrganisationalDevelopment capacity. Val has over 25 years’ experience in multinational start-ups (e.g. Boston Scientific, Warner Lambert, Pfizer, Wyeth Pharmaceuticals and Zenith Technologies). In these roles embracing and managing change was pivotal to the success of the organisation. Val was hired as HR/Organisational Development Manager into Warner Lambert as part of the senior management team to help build, support and enable the start-up of Warner Lambert (Pfizer) tablet plant, which was a US$300M pharmaceutical operation. Her role was instrumental in strategically leading a team to design, develop and implement a non-traditional flat team-based organization, with ‘Best Practice’ Human Resource Management policies and procedures. As part of her role, Val introduced state of the art recruitment, learning processes and management development programmes. Val has a great understanding of the culture of organisations and how individuals behave and work and also understand how industries operate, specifically multinationals within the pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors.
Val has worked with many companies, such as Wyeth Biopharma, Ireland, H+A Visual Communications Group Ireland, Novartis Ireland,Cork County Council Ireland, Pharmacia & Upjohn ltd, AHR Services, GSK helping their HR and Organisational Development needs.
