Irish Identity Theft

Identity theft is a growing concern worldwide, and unfortunately, Ireland is no exception. In a shocking revelation, the Irish Daily Mail and Newstalk have reported that Irish identities are being stolen and sold online for as little as €25. This alarming trend is the result of major data breaches that have compromised the personal information of countless Irish customers.
These breaches have led to the creation of a “fullz” package, which contains a person’s real name, address, and form of ID. What’s more, credit card numbers, copies of passports, and driver’s licenses are also being sold on the “dark web.” Criminals can use this information for a variety of malicious purposes, such as stealing funds from bank accounts, applying for loans or credit cards, or even committing fraud in the victim’s name.
It’s crucial to take proactive measures to protect your personal information, such as creating strong passwords, regularly monitoring your bank and credit card statements, never clicking on links from unknown/suspicious sources and being cautious about sharing sensitive information online.
What is the Dark Web?
The dark web is a part of the internet that is not indexed by standard search engines and can only be accessed using specialized software and configurations. It is a hidden network of websites and online services that are often used for illegal activities, such as selling illegal drugs, weapons, stolen data, and other illicit items. Because of its anonymity and encryption features, the dark web has become a popular destination for criminal activity, including identity theft, hacking, and cyber attacks.
