Regaining Your Confidence After Lockdown
Going back out into the world in a post-covid landscape could be a daunting prospect. If you feel as though your confidence has been knocked, we have some tips for you. These might help you to regain some interview and job confidence in a post covid world.
Dress To Impress
Many of us have spent a long time wearing sweat pants and working from the couch. If you are lucky enough to get a face to face interview, make sure you really dress to impress. This will help you not only look great but feel great too.
Practice With Family
Practice a face to face interview with friends or family. It may be a long time since you have had any sort of formal face to face with anyone. Practice what you would like to say with a friend or relative.
Get Out Of The House
Get out of the house in the days before your interview and meet people. Try to engage with as many social situations as you can to break the ice before your job interview.
Remember Your Skills
It is a good idea to remind yourself of what you are good at. This could be going back over past achievements or look at old qualifications. It is important to remember that you are a valuable member of the workforce and you have achievements under your belt.
Get A Hair Cut!
If you need one that is! But if it is not a hair cut that you need to engage in some sort of self-care before your interview. Get back in touch with yourself. Meditate, read, do something you enjoy and take the time to distress before embarking on a new venture.
We’ve Been Here Before
Remember that we have been here before. You have done this before and chances are you have succeeded. There is no reason to think that you won’t succeed this time too!
Staying in touch with yourself during this time is very important and despite how stressful lockdown has been for all of us, it is a good thing to be able to get back out there.
