Virtual Recruitment Ireland is a brand operated by BCS Sales Recruitment Ltd which is the data controller for any personal data we collect from the users of our services. BCS Sales Recruitment Ltd are based in the Republic of Ireland and subject to data protection and privacy regulation (GDPR, Data Protection Acts 1988 to 2018 and PECR (S.I. 336 of 2011)) under the authority of the Irish Data Protection Commission.
BCS Sales Recruitment Ltd runs a number of websites dedicated to career development and recruitment, including education, and in some cases these operate in partnership with Seats Are Ltd, a separate data controller based in Ireland.
Seats Are Ltd and BCS Sales Recruitment work together in a collaborative manner and will exchange and share personal data compatible with the purposes as set down in the respective privacy notices of the various websites operated by them and in accordance with their own data sharing agreement.
Personal data collected by either company will, in accordance with their data sharing agreement, remain the responsibility of the original processor of the personal data to ensure ongoing data protection compliance and full liability is assumed by the original processor of the personal data.

Virtual Recruitment Ireland is committed to protecting your personal information when you use our services.

1 What information will we collect about you?

When you sign up to receive our newsletter we will seek only your name and your email address so you can be kept up to date with the latest news about jobs, opportunities and info about the Virtual Recruitment Ireland jobs fair and events.
1.2 When you register to attend an event
Our partner data processor for the registration and the issuance of tickets for our Virtual Recruitment Ireland events is Eventbrite. When you register we have instructed Eventbrite to seek the following personal data from you;
• Name, email, gender, age, nationality, your city or town of residence, the highest level of education you have reached, and your career or training interests.
While both Virtual Recruitment Ireland and Eventbrite has this information on you, Eventbrite are not allowed to use it for any purposes beyond anonymised statistical analysis for business planning reasons.
1.3 When you attend any of our virtual events
You may choose to share your CV with us so we, and our partner company Seats Are Ltd, can assist you in finding employment or a educational course. Your CV will typically include work and education biographically details as well as personal data that uniquely identifies you, however you may wish to share more personal data on your CV, including special category data, at your prerogative.
When you attend our physical events we may photograph or video you to be used in promotional or marketing materials. We may also need to check your ticket and make a record of your attendance.
1.4 When you engage with one, or more, of our partner companies & employers.
Companies will be in attendance at the Virtual Recruitment events and you may choose to engage with them and exchange personal data with them. In this event the personal data exchanged is the responsibility of the company you engaged with who will be your data controller. Our role will be solely to facilitate the initial communication and we cannot access the information, including personal data you may choose to exchange with them.
1.5 When you visit our website
When you visit our website we will collect your
IP address, and details of which version of web browser you use, information on how you use and navigate the site, what site you came from.
We don’t collect or store personal identifiable information such as your name and address so it’s highly unlikely this information can be used to identify who you are.
2 Who do we share your personal information with?
We never share your personal information or data that you submit to us with any external organisations for marketing, market research or commercial purposes. When you attend Virtual Recruitment Ireland online/virtual events, you may engage with and share personal data with fellow attendees and/or exhibitors at the event. That sharing is outside the scope of our responsibility under data protection legislation and the processing of that personal data exchanged is a matter between those parties solely. You may share your CV with us so we can assist you in a job search or finding an educational course. We may share this CV with appropriate potential employers, our partner company Seats Are Ltd, or education providers.
2.4 When you visit our website
When you visit our website your, normally unidentifiable, information will be held on our servers hosted by our partner Data Processor, Flywheel a webhosting site based in the UK.
We use Google Analytics as a partner Data Processor to improve our marketing, targeting and understanding of our visitor to the site.
3 Lawful basis for processing your personal data.
3.1 Signing up for our newsletter.
We process your data when you sign up to our newsletter on the lawful basis that you have given us consent to the processing for a specific purposes, namely to receive our newsletter and to manage your future communications preferences.

We process your data when you register to attend an online/virtual event on the lawful basis of that you have given us consent to the processing for a specific purposes, namely to receive information about the event and for us to register you and, when applicable, your training and employment interests in attending the event.
3.3 When you attend any of our events
When we take a record of your attendance we do this because we have assessed it is a necessary for the purposes of our legitimate interest to do so and we believe this processing does not in any way impact negatively of your data protection rights.

Your personal data provided via our online platform partner Graduateland is processed for the purposes of their legitimate interest to do so and we believe this processing does not in any way impact negatively of your data protection rights.
3.6 When we email you
When we email you future events, news or vacancies we think you may be interested in these emails will be sent to you based on us assessing that you would be interested in them and thereby our legal basis would be that it is necessary for the purposes of our legitimate interest to do so. Each and every communication will however contain a unsubscribe button in them so you can maintain ongoing control of how we market and communicate with you.
We will never email anyone from the purchase or exchange of personal data from entities outside of BCS Sales Recruitment Ltd or Seats Are Ltd.
4 How long will we hold on to your data
We will only retain your data for as long as is it necessary to fulfil the original purpose of the processing. So for instance if you attended any of our online/virtual events on one or more occasions we may continue to inform you of the next ones.
If, however, we continue to inform you and you don’t ask us to stop but you haven’t attended an event in three years we will then delete your personal data.
If you ask us to stop processing your data and/or delete your personal data we will do so unless there is a lawful reason compelling us to refuse that request.
Retention and disposal of your data is the responsibility of our appointed Data Protection Officer, and once at the end of the retention period, destruction of your data will be completed.
5 How will we use the information we have about you?

These servers are operated by Flywheel, a third-party Data Processor. This data is backed up in the UK. To increase the performance of their platform, they give access on a worldwide basis from regionally localized service providers to ensure fast and secure access. Data you provide via our website for joining any of our employment events, or as a candidate in communication with a prospective college, course provider or agent, will be stored by them. As they are located globally, your data may potentially be accessed and/or stored outside of the European Economic Area.
